From the 7.9 – 10.9.2011, in Trojanovce (CR), the 18th International Conference 2011 of Forming took place. This year the conference was hosted by the Department of forming materials FMMI, Technical University of Ostrava. The conference was co-organized by the Department of forming: VSB - Technical University of Ostrava, FMMI, Department of forming materials, Politechnika Śląska Katowice, Department of Technology of materials and our Department of forming. These conferences have been focusing for a long-time on problems of the deformation behaviour of various types of modern alloys of non-ferrous metals, advanced technologies for their efficient processing and thermodynamic physical and mathematical simulation methods leading to the optimization of forming processes. At the conference, from 3 countries (Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia) 74 participants were there from universities, and also from major companies (ArcelorMittal Ostrava, Třinecké železárny, as, Třinec VÚHŽ as., Skoda transportation, as. Plzen, zeleziarne Podbrezová - Research Development Centre, as. and others), who presented results of their research. The conference presented 54 contributions and these have been published in the magazíne
HUTNICKE LISTY – or in the journal HUTNIK – WIADOMOŚCI HUTNICZE. Za MTF STU. Three MTF STU workers from the UVTE Forming Department actively participated and presented thein work in three contributions.
