From March 23 to 25, 2026, representatives of the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology of the Slovak University of Technology in Trnava – Vice-Dean for Strategic Projects and Mobility, Ing. Libor Ďuriška, PhD., and Vice-Director for Foreign and Internal Relations, Assoc. Prof. Ing. Ladislav Morovič, PhD. (UVTE) – participated in the international event International Days, organized by Dunaújvárosi Egyetem (University of Dunaújváros) in the Hungarian city of Dunaújváros.
The event brought together participants from eight countries (Hungary, Colombia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Spain, Italy, and Turkey) and focused on strengthening international cooperation and developing new partnerships in education and research. The main theme of the event was artificial intelligence and its increasingly important role in both academic and industrial environments. As part of the programme, partner institutions had the opportunity to present their educational programmes, research activities, and strategic direction, creating space for professional discussion and the identification of concrete opportunities for cooperation.
The first day also included a tour of the university campus and its specialized facilities. Participants had the opportunity to visit modern technical, physical, and manufacturing laboratories, where practical demonstrations of experiments and technological processes were presented.
The programme of the first day culminated in a gala dinner held in the historic premises of the Károlyi Castle in Fehérvárcsurgó. This gala gathering in a representative setting contributed to strengthening relationships among participants and provided further opportunities for both professional and personal discussions.
The second day of the event was dedicated to expert lectures focusing on current trends and challenges in the field of artificial intelligence. International experts presented their latest research results, including contributions focused, for example, on the use of artificial intelligence in process automation and the development of autonomous intelligent systems. The discussions confirmed the growing importance of artificial intelligence across various areas of industry as well as academic research.
The organizers also paid attention to presenting Hungarian culture and creating informal networking opportunities. The final day included a joint excursion to Lake Balaton, during which participants visited the historic castle in Szigliget and the town of Keszthely, where they had the opportunity to learn more about the cultural heritage of the region.
The participation of MTF STU representatives in the International Days event contributed to strengthening the faculty’s international standing and opened up new opportunities for the development of cooperation in research, education, and the mobility of students and staff.
