From 25–26 April 2014 there will be held the Festival of Science at the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology in Trnava. The event is supported by the town of Trnava and it is a part of the project “Festival of Science as a Platform for Support of Cooperation between Universities of the V4 Region” and it is financed with the Visegrad Fund.
The project preparation is supervised by Assoc. Prof. Mgr. Dagmar Cagáňová, PhD. and Ing. Vanesa Prajová, PhD. Employees, PhD students and students of the Institute of Industrial Engineering and Management cooperate on the project, together with the Division of Knowledge Management. The scientific guarantors of the event are Prof. Ing. Miloš Čambál, CSc. and Assoc. Prof. Ing. Jana Šujanová, CSc. The webpage of the festival is processed by Ing. Marek Vyskoč, a former student of MTF STU and currently an employee of the company Orange Slovakia, a.s.
The main aim of the project is to form a basis for active scientific cooperation in the V4 region via an exchange of well-established processes and knowledge. It is an opportunity to connect academic and research organizations of the countries of V4 to support and cooperate in the area of international mobility of university teachers and students as well as in the area of science, research and education.
The Festival of Science is a two-day long event and it is organized for the first time in Slovakia in such specification and range. The festival’s aim is to create a platform for cooperation of not only researchers, scientists and professionals in the area of entrepreneurship and management, but also for artists and students from the whole Slovak Republic and Europe. The Festival will provide a space which can help to develop cooperation, increase knowledge of the trends in areas of innovation, as well as provoke the interest of students in the newest knowledge in the areas of green and social innovations.
The Festival of Science and Innovations 2014 is organized in connection to the official opening of the regional office of the European Alliance for Innovations in the Slovak Republic as a result of cooperation between the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology in Trnava and the European Alliance for innovations in Brussels.
On Friday April 25th 2014 the Festival of Science will be held at the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology STU on Paulínska Street in Trnava. The topics, focused on innovations and international projects of Horizont 2020, will be discussed with representatives of domestic and foreign ministries, universities and research centers as well as with members of the European Commission in panel discussions.
On Saturday April 26th 2014 the festival will be moved to the Trinity Square in Trnava where visitors can participate in solving practical, scientific and technical tasks and they can see also recitations, singing and dance performances by kindergarten children, students of elementary and secondary schools. The students of the Institute of Industrial Engineering and Management will join the festival with the initiative “MTF Transfers to Green,” with the aim of securing the material conditions to implement the recycling of waste in student dormitories. At their stand visitors can create various utilizable products from PET bottles or paper cardboard while the aim is to produce the highest number of products.
The agency HECTOR and the group VINEDI will perform as a part of the event and they will present archery. The choir CANTICA NOVA will take care of the musical experience.
