On the 26th of November 2012 at the MTF STU in Trnava, the third lecture in the series "Discussions with practice" took place. This was lectured by doc. Ing. Jan Lešinský, CSc. - Head of the institute for lifelong learning at the STU. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Slovak Technical University (now University of Technology) in Bratislava, his study field was transport machines and equipment, specializing in motor vehicles.
The lecture consisted of several interesting parts. Doc. Lešinský presented some interesting forecasts of the world in 2020. His information touched upon industry, especially the automotive industry. An interesting feature was the forecast of the Slovak Republic’s position in 2020 and the threats of economically, rapidly developing countries, particularly BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa), which have been rapidly progressing, especially in the automotive industry. He introduced us to the emerging new-type of engine, which at low temperatures reaches a very high performance. Currently, the patent has been sold to the U.S. Army. The last part of the lecture was a discussion where the audience had the opportunity to ask what interested them most.
The Institute of Industrial Engineering, Management and Quality will continue the cycle of lectures "Interviews with practice" together with other interesting topics in the following months.
