On the 21st-24th of May 2013, the MTF STU participated in the 1st year of the exhibition- TECHFÓRUM 2013, which was organized as part of the 20th International Engineering Fair in Nitra.
The aim of the exhibition was to present the outcomes of research and development departments of university faculties, technical oriented universities and their confrontation with practice.
The engineering sector in Slovakia has a traditional background, which creates conditions for investors and effects Slovak producers by creating new contacts. The Association of Mechanical Engineering of the Slovak Republic was present. Patronage was given to the Minister of the Economy - Mr. Ing. Thomas Malatinský, MBA.
One special part of the exhibition was a presentation of welding schools, one of them being the welding school from the Institute of Production Technologies from the MTF STU. The opportunity arose through the faculty’s collaboration with First Welding, Inc. Bratislava.
This year's fair had approximately four-hundred registered exhibitors who approximately represented two-hundred firms from many countries, especially from Slovakia, Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, but also from overseas, such as. Japan and Taiwan. The STU’s Faculty of Materials Science effectively used this opportunity to present their results in this largest and most important Slovak engineering trade fair event of the year.
