On the 20th of February at the Detached Workplace (DP) in Komarno, a promotional event "Open Day" took place. This was for high school students and those interested in higher education in the region of Komarno. It was prepared by a team of DP workers led by Ing. Peter Szabo, PhD. The event was honoured by the presence of the Vice-Dean of the Faculty - doc. Ing. Helena Vidova, PhD., as well as Prof. Ing. Jozef Sáblík, CSc. Visitors receive detailed information about the admission process and had the opportunity to take part in interesting lectures of Applied Informatics in practice (Ing. J. Czifra, PhD., Ing. V. Ďurčová), Universities and their direction for the automotive industry (Ing. J. Holecek), Progressive courses: materials and safety engineering (Ing. P. Pinke, CSc., Ing. T. Szmolka, PhD., Ing. K. Salgo) or they had the opportunity to preview 3D scanning. (Ing. L. Morovič, PhD., and Ing. I. Buranský, PhD.). The smooth running of the event is also owed to the contribution of the following colleagues from DP (PaedDr. L. Kremžárová, PhD., Ing. J. Nemeth and Ing. J. Sztankay, CSc.). High school students showed a great interest at the event. We believe that the event adds to the promotional events of the faculty for prospective students for the academic year of 2013-2014.
