The Rector of the Slovak Technical
University in Bratislava gave awards annually, since 2001
on the basis of the proposals from the deans of the
faculties for the best professors.
On the proposal of the Dean of the FMST SUT- Professor Moravcik, this year belonged to the awarded professors who were from the Slovak Technical University and also included Professor Ing.Jozef Janovec, DrSc.,who is working at the UMAT (Department of Materials) Faculty of Materials Science and technology SUT.
During Professor Janovec's professional career he took three long term stays at major workplaces: Max-Planck-Institut für Eisenforschung, Düsseldorf (Germany), Osaka University (Japan) and the Institute of Metals and Technologies, Ljubljana (Slovenia).
The nature of Professor Janovec's research is to study the processes of diffusion characteristics in metallic systems. He has also focused on the modelling of phase balancing using thermodynamic database programs, as well as the structural study of complex metallic materials based on aluminium.
In addition, Professor Janovec was awarded together with 7 professors working at the SUT. All awarded professors are devoted to teaching and scientific work of many years and many graduates still remember them.
The management of the faculty warmly congratulates Professor. Janovec and wishes him many successful years in the field of science, research and teaching activities at the SUT.
