On the 8th and the 9th of February 2010 the nationwide contest took place in the following places : the premises of the laboratory of pneumatic systems from the Institute of Production Systems and Applied Mechanics and also in the training centre of Festo.
Eleven secondary school (which teach mechatronics) student competitors
attended from the whole of Slovakia.
The winning team which had two members has won a place at the Euro Skills
Competition, which will be held this year in Lisbon. The competition was to resolve the
role of manipulation, which requires skills and knowledge of pneumatic and
electrical components, sensors and PLC programming. The expert guarantor was
also chairman of the Panel - Ing. Roman Ružarovský, PhD.
During the two-day competition individual teams and
teachers from secondary schools attended the workshop, during which they were
introduced to the laboratories of robotics and pneumatics of the UVSM ( Institute of Production Systems and Mechatronics) by
the director of the UVSM - Prof. Ing.
Karol Velíšek, PhD. and Ing. Radovan Holubek. During the workshop the students
tried production assemble and they were able to manipulate the control circuits
within the educational workplaces.
