On the 08th February to the 10th of February 2012 the "Final Conference" was held, two exchange study visits and the 09th of Project Meeting of the AUTOCLUSTERS project (SEE/A/594/1.2/X) „International cooperation network of educational research institutions with subcontractors and other bodies active in Automotive Industry." The event organizers were from the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology in Trnava (MTF STU Trnava) and the Automotive Cluster - West Slovakia in Trnava. The project was supported and implemented in close collaboration with the Self Governing Region in Trnava, as well as the City of Trnava.
The conference was opened by Oliver MORAVCIK, Ph.D. Professor, dean of MTF STU Trnava; Tibor MIKUS, Ph.D., the president of Self Governing Region and Vladimir BUTKO, MS.c., mayor of the City of Trnava. The conference presented their contributions by renowned experts from the automotive industry in South East Europe - Slovakia, Slovenia, Italy, Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary. The conference and accompanying events were attended by over 140 participants, whom we thank for their interest and participation in the event.
The event and panel discussion was led by Dagmar CAGANOVA, Ph.D., Associate Professor and Zdenka GYURAK BABELOVA, Ph.D. of the MTF STU Trnava, Martina HOMOLOVA, MS.c. of Automotive Cluster - West Slovakia (Slovakia), Diego BORSELLINO, MS.c. - Consultant of ISMO / Coordinator of Comunimprese / CEO and General Manager of Europartners Srl di Milano and Roberto FERRARI, MS.c. - General Manager of ISMO (Italy).
The conference was addressed by the current president of the Automotive Industry Association of the Slovak Republic. The president of the Association of the Automotive Industry Association of the Slovak Republic, Jozef UHRIK, Ph.D. spoke about the importance of the automotive industry for the Slovak economy and its export. The automotive industry in Slovakia employs over 72,000 people and accounts for more than 40 % of the Slovak industry. As a key strategic role in maintaining and improving the competitiveness of Slovakia, the importance of training and development of highway infrastructures was stressed.
Part of the „Final Conference" was dedicated to „Social dialogue in the Automotive Sector within South East Europe", which was conducted during the open discussion of the labour relations and collective bargaining in the automotive sector, opportunities for work and international relations, innovation and good working relationships and practice experience of the invited representatives. Results and evaluation of the common methodology of social dialogue were presented by Diego BORSELLINO, MS.c. - Consultant of ISMO / Coordinator of Comunimprese / CEO and General Manager of Europartners Srl di Milano and Gianluca GULLOTTA, MS.c. - ISMO Senior Researcher (Italy).
The „Final Conference" was also attended by the founder and current president of the European Alliance for Innovation and international research centre CREATE-NET Imrich CHLAMTAC, Ph.D. Professor, who was personally received by the President of the Slovak Republic - Mr. Ivan GASPAROVIC, together with the Rector of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava - Robert REDHAMMER, Ph.D., Professor; Milos CAMBAL, Ph.D., Associated Professor; Dagmar CAGANOVA, Ph.D., Associated Professor and Stefan CHUDOBA, Ph.D. At the premises of the MTF STU Trnava Imrich CHLAMAC, Ph.D., Professor was received by the Dean of the Faculty Oliver MORAVCIK, Ph.D. Professor.
The conference was a press conference at which there were regional television and the online student television STUBA which presented the project's results. The press conference was attended by, among other guests, the current director of the Automotive Cluster - West Slovakia Roman BIRO, Ph.D.
Accompanying event of the conference presentations were on stallsat of Institute of Industrial Engineering, Management and Quality MTF STU Trnava, Automotive Cluster - West Slovakia and STUBA Green Team at the Slovak University and Technology in Bratislava and exchange study visit to the Centre of Excellence 5-axis Machining in Trnava, were presented by Ladislav MOROVIC, Ph.D. and was organized by Institute of Industrial Engineering, Management and Quality and exchange study visit to VOLKSWAGEN SLOVAKIA, a.s. in Bratislava organized by the Automotive Cluster - West Slovakia.
The „AUTOCLUSTERS" project has a strong support to develop cooperation between the partner institutions, universities, research and development organizations and clusters. Important outcomes of this project are the submission of further proposals in the 7th Framework Programme (FP 7). The Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava participated in two proposals of FP 7 as a partner. The 3rd of FP 7 project proposal, the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava prepares in collaboration with Johns Manville Slovakia, a.s.
