02.12.2013 Lecture by doc. Rosina from Matador Holding a.s.
On the 27th November 2013 on the premises of the Čabelka lecture hall at the MTF STU, a lecture by doc. Ing . Štefan Rosina, PhD. - Chairman of Matador Holding a.s. took place. The lecture was held in collaboration with Junior Chamber International - Slovakia in the series "The idea turned into a success." Doc. Rosina presented the lecture called "Matador - innovative company". Due to his many years of practical experience, the lecture was very interesting. Afterward, students of the faculty were offered the opportunity to participate in practice within the following two areas.

On the 5th of December 2013 Dies iovis occurssus (XXXV) was lectured by PhDr. Milan Vároš about the sad fate of works of art that have permanently left Slovakia.

05.11.2013 Seminar of SECO
On the 21st October 2013, on the grounds of the MTF STU, a continuation of the 2nd series of workshops from the SECO Tools Group took place: Strategies of milling II. patrickPatrick De Vos, MSc. manager of technical education in the SECO Tools Group held his lecture that was addressed to technologists, as well as others interested in machining technology, who wish to receive sound information from experienced professionals.
27.11.2013 Dies iovis Occurssus (XXXIV) took place
Dies iovis occurssus (XXXIV) took place on the 7th November 2013. The main analyst of ARRA -Miroslav Medved, MA, MSc. gave a presentation about the current theme of universities’ Ranking - motivation, opportunities and trends. The forthcoming accreditation of higher education has been an extensive debate.
27.11.2013 Lecture of a Polish guest
On the 13th November 2013 in T-31, a lecture by Ing. Pawol Kuzdowicz, PhD. from the Faculty of Economics and Management, University of Zelena Gora, took place. The theme of the lecture was “Logistics Controlling with ERP system. Modelling Value Stream Flows in the Supply Chain of Industrial Enterprise”.
27.11.2013 Professor William Lucas of the University of Cambridge at the MTF STU
On the 13th November 2013 Prof. Dr. Ing. Jozef Peterka, on behalf of the Dean of the Faculty - Dr. h. c. Prof. Dr. Ing. Oliver Moravcik, welcomed Professor William Lucas - Chairman of the commission IIW from the University of Cambridge, who was interested in cooperating with our faculty and visited both centres of excellence.

21.10.2013 Discussions with practice VII took place
On the 30th September 2013 at the Faculty of Materials Science Technology STU in Trnava, another lecture from the series “Discussions with practice” took place. The lecturer was Ing . Juraj Janáč, graduate of the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology STU in Trnava and currently head of logistics at Volkswagen Slovakia , a.s. The topic of the lecture was "Modern elements of logistics applied in the automotive industry in Slovakia". The lecture consisted of some interesting parts. Ing . Juraj Janáč introduced the automotive industry and its production in Slovakia. He pointed out very interesting numbers, important indicators, and a map of the company’s factory. A very interesting part was the structure of the logistics system in society where the public can learn about the planning and management of production, pre-production and operational logistics. Finally lecturer Ing . Juraj Janáč pointed to opportunities offered to students, especially about possibilities regarding personal development at Volkswagen Slovakia, a.s., for example, through the program " Trainee ".

12.06.2013 Interviews with practice VI.
Faculty of Materials Science STU in Trnava held the 6th lecture of the series "Interviews with practice II" on 27 May 2013. The lecturer was Eng. Milan Sestak, the General Manager Emerson, a.s. in Nove Mesto nad Vahom and President of the Slovak Society for Quality.
26.06.2013 Welcoming of a foreign delegation from France
On the 12 June 2013 delegates from the Université Lille (France) visited the MTF STU. The representatives were François-Olivier Seys, Vice-Rector for International Relations, Prof. Rudolph Astori, coordinator of international relations for the Mechanical Engineering Department and Maria Eksler, manager for international relations. This foreign visit was received by the following: Vice-Dean of the MTF for foreign affairs, science and research, Prof. Ing. Peter Grgac, CSc., the director of the Institute of Materials of the MTF STU, Prof. Ing. Jozef Janovec, DrSc., Ing. Roman Čička, PhD. and other employees of the faculty.
26.06.2013 Welcoming of the Rector of Gomel State University
The MTF STU welcomed a delegation from the Gomel State University of Francisk Skorina – Rector Prof. Ing. Alexander Rogacev, DrSc., who is also a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and Vice Rector for pedagogy doc. Ing. Sergej Chachomov, CSc. Gomel State University is one of the leading universities in Belarus, which has a long and successful cooperation with foreign partners, such as with academic institutions in China, Germany, France, Sweden, Japan etc. Currently there are 270 foreign students studying from China, Syria, Lebanon, Morocco, Egypt, Yemen, etc.

06.05.2013 Foreign visitors from Egypt at the MTF STU
On the 29th April 2013, the Rector of the STU Prof. Robert Redhammer had a visit from Egypt, those visiting were: Ahmed Khairy - President of the Egyptian-Japanese University for Science and Technology, Prof. Roushdy Zahran - Vice President of Alexandria University, Prof. Ekram Fateen -deputy director of the National Research Centre in Cairo and Prof. Abu - Youssef Morsy - Attaché in Vienna. The Egyptian delegation was received at the MTF STU by the Vice- Dean of the Faculty - Prof. Grgac together with doc. M. Behulová, doc. M. Kusy, Dr. Morovič and other faculty members.
22.05.2013 Ceremonial start of construction of the University science park
On the 17th May 2013, on the premises of the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology STU in Trnava, the ceremonial start of construction of the University science park in Trnava took place. This major event was attended by distinguished guests from domestic and foreign academic, economic and social life.

24.04.2013 Meeting of the plastics industry representatives
The Faculty of Materials Science and Technology became a meeting place of the following representatives from: The Portuguese embassy, Portuguese and Slovak plastics industry and representatives of the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Automotive Cluster of Western Slovakia and representatives of our faculty: Prof. Ing. Peter Sugar, CSc. and doc. Ing. Antonin Naplava, CSc. The visit was welcomed in the premises of the faculty by the Vice-dean of the Faculty doc. Ing. Helena Vidova, PhD. Our Portuguese partners presented their activities at the meeting and offered further cooperation to all participants.
24.04.2013 Negotiations with a foreign partner - SKKU, Korea
On the 15th April 2013, at the MTF STU, in the Institute of Applied Informatics, Automation and Mathematics, a meeting with representatives of the faculty was held with Prof. E. BABULAK, D.Sc., Ph.D., FRSA, FBCS. Prof. Babulak is responsible for foreign affairs at the College of Information and Communication Engineering SUNG KYUN KWAN UNIVERSITY (SKKU), Suwon, Korea. The MTF was represented by the Vice-Dean doc. Ing. Schreiber, CSc., Director of UIAM doc. Ing. Tanuška, PhD., doc. Vrábeľ and doc. Božek.

22.03.2013 Visit of Professor Nigel Holden from Leeds Business School to the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology in Trnava
On the 11th and 12th March 2013 a two-day training workshop took place at the Institute of Industrial Engineering, Management and Quality (UPMK),delivered by renowned expert in the field of management, Professor Nigel J. Holden, from Leeds Business School in the United Kingdom. Professor Nigel J. Holden was warmly welcomed to the Institute by Vice-director for Foreign Affairs and International Projects, Assoc. Prof., Dagmar Cagáňová, M.A., Ph.D. and student, Paul Woolliscroft, M.Sc.

27.02.2013 Interviews with Practice V.
On the 25th of February 2013 at the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology in Trnava was held, the 5th lecture in the series "Interviews with Practice". The lecture was given by Branislav Hunčík, PhD., CHRO (Chief HR Officer) – Penta Investments, s.r.o., Prague. The lecture consisted of three parts. In the first part Branislav Hunčík, PhD. explained the issue of key performance indicators and the management process of the company. Valuable information was presented stating that that the company should not focus solely on benchmarking key performance indicators, but primarily on strategic key indicators, emphasising the philosophy that it is important to: "Measure what is measurable, and make measurable what is not". A key and important part of the discussion was the interconnection of practice and theory when measuring performance indicators. The second part of the lecture was a practical demonstration of key performance indicators of the company practice. In conclusion was the discussion, where audience had an opportunity to ask questions.

24.01.2013 New Year’s meeting
The New Year's meeting of employees and friends of the MTF STU presented an opportunity to assess the previous year and a foresight of activities that await us in the coming year. The year 2012 was an exceptional success, not only due to the success of the faculty but because it celebrated the 75th anniversary of the STU.
30.01.2013 Dies Iovis Occurssus XXVIII
The year 1150 marked the anniversary of the arrival of Saints Cyril and Methodius in our territory. In the frame of the 28th continuation of Dies Iovis Occurssus, the guest of the Dean- Prof. Dr. Ing. Oliver Moravčík, was the important church historian - Bishop of the Diocese of Nitra -Prof. ThDr. William Judák, PhD. The topic of the lecture was the same as one of his publications named, Living heritage, which is devoted to this important historical event.
