Engineering, http://www.engineering.sk, 12.12.2011: Specialized robotic systems
Professor, can you tell the readers the main main objectives of the project
just completed and what did it resulted in?
Doc. Božek: The main objective was primarily to introduce students to the new
output of our research and development projects. With the CD, this can be very
fast. Secondly, to get them acquainted with new ideas that served as inventions
and patents. Finally, it is also a fact that the students had an idea of what of what they learn, especially from high
school, they do not know what a Deltastat is or what a carousel is, which is a
turret lathe, which is a welder etc.. Now they are learning and implementing engineering
technologies into production systems by way production simulations, the creation of flexible manufacturing
systems, robotic systems to etc. Once there were funds for excursions. Students
went on field trips throughout the week all over Slovakia. We were in VSZ
Kosice, we were in T ZS, ZTS Martin, TAZ Trnava and BAZ Bratislava.
I tried to replace the school excursion
trips in the form of a single lecture. This was not in the curriculum. Excursions
are no longer in the curriculum therefore I thought about making a textbook,
where we can upload video, where we can put computer animations and insert the
results of Bachelor and Diploma theses, so that a student from a vocational
subject had something. For example, there is no need for any clips of mathematics,
mathematics is still the same.
The main objective was to upgrade
textbooks. Then there are patents or utility models whose implementation is
costly. When one looks only at pictures, charts and related calculations, one
may not understand it as fast as when they see something really functioning.
Animations in the textbook take into account the environmental, ergonomical and
economical. Environmental because we do not need a lot of energy, we do not
need to produce something and then throw in the trash, it is enough to just
click the button. Economical because they do not have to go into operation, we
do not pay for an excursion, we do not waste time. We do not delay the
production. Ergonomic in the sense that as students learn habits that are
necessary for programming such as refining and editing.
Where can we get the new publication?
Doc. Božek: By the end of the year which should be available in libraries and all
cooperating universities. The electronic version is available now for the link:
