Information
about applying for a loan from the Student Loan Fund
The loan from the fund may be requested by each full-time and part-time student who
are in their first year of study in the Slovak Republic or a foreign university,
who have permanent residence in the Slovak Republic or a student who is
studying at university in the Slovak Republic in the position of foreign Slovak.
The first year of any university study is considered when graduated bachelor students continue with further studies in full-time or part-time master studies or engineering studies.
As a first
attempt of study the following is also considered, further masters or
engineering studies of bachelor degree graduates.
If the applicant meets the condition for the first year of study and has
applied to more universities which are not divided into faculties, a loan may
only be granted for the one university.
An applicant for a loan who is studying
at university and has passed all of the prescribed study examinations of
the faculty or university to advance to the next year, can then request in
writing to be included on the list of applicants until the 15th of June of the calendar year, other applicants, including the
first-year students until
a) Students studying at a Slovak university should send applications to the faculty they are studying at.
b) Students studying at foreign universities should send applications to the student loan fund.
