On the 15th of October
2009, the Rector of the University of Miskolc / Hungary, Professor Dr. Gyula
Patko received a delegation from the FMST SUT -the Dean of the Faculty, Professor
Moravcik and the Director Professor Balog of the Institute of safety and environmental engineering whilst
in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and
Computer Science, Professor Dr. Béla Illés and Vice-Deans Professor. Gabriella Bognár and Professor Dr.
Laszló Czap discussed the possibilities for mutual cooperation and signed a
proposal for a joint cross-border project Interreg SK-HU, worth more than 1
million euros. The Director of Geothermal Mr. Stefan Kočiš was present , he
prepared the project and other non-university institutions in Hungary and Slovakia. At the conclusion of the
visit of this partner, who the FMST SUT have cooperated with for more than
twenty years, a visit to the library of Banská Štiavnica Mining and Forestry Academy was made. The FMST SUT has
received an offer of a one-week stay for our researchers in the field of
Technical history to examine archival artefacts common to Slovakia-Hungarian.
The offer was accepted with gratitude.
