During the
Week of Science and Technology in Slovakia major scientific
personalities and scientific teams have been awarded.
Awards of the vice Prime Minister, Minister of Education (in the Slovak Republic)
for Science and Technology 2009, were given by the Minister Ján Mikolaj on
Wednesday the 4th of November 2009 to distinguished personalities of scientific life in Slovakia.
Awards were awarded for work, particularly for results and further merits in
science and technology.
Awards were held in the four categories: personality of science and technology,
scientific and technical team of the year, lifelong merits in the field of
science and technology, personality of science and technology up to the age of
thirty-five years .
This year was in the category of Personality of Science and Technology , valued
employee of UMAT FMST SUT
Prof. RNDr. Miroslav Urban, DrSc.
for outstanding achievement in the development and application of quantum
chemistry methods and excellent representation of the Slovak Republic's
science in the world.
Prizes have been handed over to the Grand Gala programme on the 4th of November
2009.
