Slovak archaeologists have changed history - that was last title of this year's Thursday lecture - Dies IOVIS Occurssus XIX, in which we welcomed the scientific worker from the Archaeological Institute of SAV in Nitra, PhDr. Karol Pieta DrSc. Rather than a mere lecture it started with two songs from the music school students of M. Sch. Trnavasky.
After a performance of the currently used methods of archaeological research in Slovakia, Dr. Pieta presented the findings of a wooden tomb site in the area of Poprad. Another part of the meeting was focused on the presentation of several archaeological sites in Bojna, which is known as "phenomenon of Pompeii." And it's not because of volcanic activity, but the sudden invasion of enemies of the mentioned territory. The presentation had been enriched by rich pictorial material and stories. The discussion ended with Ing. Milan Petras, PhD. giving thanks, not only to express gratitude to dear guests, but also to all those involved.
