Dear newly admitted students,
we are pleased that you have chosen the study at this Faculty.
Study of English for Science and Technology (EST) is a component of demanding study at MTF STU, as it is one of the major prerequisites of a university graduate's successful performance on labour market. A four-semester EST course starts in the summer semester of the first year, on three levels (A1-C1) according to the Common European Reference Framework:
- Basic user / A1 /, corresponds to false beginner level;
- Basic user - independent user / A2-B1 /, corresponds to lower-intermediate level;
- Independent and advanced user / B2-C1 /, corresponds to upper-intermediate level.
The EST courses are tailored to the majors and programmes the Faculty provides and to related specific communication competences. Teaching format involves the implementation of the latest information and communication technologies. To help you succeed in the English course and to bridge the gap in winter semester (no compulsory English training), the Department of Professional Language Communication, Institute of Engineering Pedagogy and Humanities offers the following intensive and weekend courses:

Registration for the courses will take place in the main building of the Faculty in Paulínska Street, first floor, classroom 138; the exact date will be announced later. You can apply electronically by 21 August 2009 to: skola.komunikacie@gmail.com. When applying, please do not forget to indicate the type of the course and add your mobile phone number. At the registration, you will obtain a postal check which is due to be paid on the day of registration. The price of the course does not include accommodation and board. The lessons start on the day of registration.
