On the 20th of September 2010 the welcome ceremony speech was given by his Magnificence Professor Bales - Rector of the Slovak University of Technology this was the opening dedicated to issues of engineering education, organized by two major international professional organizations called IGIP and SEFI .
More than 430 participants from all continents were present, during the introduction talks took place to the audience from the presidents of both organizations, Professor Anette Kolmos and Professor Norbert Kraker addressed the participants at the beginning of the conference day. During the three days there will be nine plenary lectures, 200 lectures in seven sections and in the poster section there will be 49 participants‘work presented.
In the opening day plenary speech section there were:

International companies
as well as Slovak companies are represented through out the conference and they
will evaluate engineering education from a practice perspective.
From 1.30pm conversations were started.
One part of the conversations was about the posters. During a coffee break there were informal discussions.
The day ended with social meetings.
