On the 25th of January 2013, on the premises of the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology in Trnava, the first Sports Council meeting of the STU was chaired by the Vice Rector - Prof. Ing. Milan Sokol, PhD.
The STU Sports Council is an advisory body to the Rector of the STU and does the following:
- supports the development of physical education and sport as an integral part of education at the STU,
- coordinates mass-recreational sports of students and staff at the STU
- compiles sporting schedules of the STU and coordinates the organization of sporting events
- proposes STU budget management by promoting sport organized under the auspices of the STU
- supports the development of research activities in the field of sport’s sciences and applied research of professional work places of the STU focusing on physical education and sport,
- promotes a sports movement and the STU provides public information about it.
The Vice Dean of the MTF - Prof. Ing. Peter Grgač, CSc. and the Head of the lecturing cabinet of the MTF - Ing. Milan Petras, PhD. welcomed the members of the STU’s Sports Council on behalf of the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology.
The STU Sports Council consists of Heads of departments and divisions of physical education and sport in the Faculties of the STU.
Mgr. Rastislav Hlavaty, PhD. represented the MTF at this meeting.
