On the 18th and 19th of November at the Institute of materials FMST SUT an ongoing international seminar entitled "New trends in the diagnostics of materials.” takes place. On behalf of the institute the seminar was opened by doc. Kusý. After welcoming the participants of the seminar doc. Čaplovič introduced the activities of the Centre of Excellence for the diagnostics of materials and also the first application possibilities of a light scan microscope SEM JSM 7600F.
Lectures followed by Mr Shunsuke Asahina - representative company JEOL, Martyn Green, Keith Dicks and Radim Rybka, representatives of the company Oxford Instruments.
Experience with the use of electron microscopy in analysis, diagnosis and identification of a wide range of materials was also given by the speakers within the university environment. On the 19th of November the seminar lectures will continue with a visit to the Centre of Excellence and practical demonstrations.
