On Wednesday January 29th 2014, the Eighth Annual “Open House” for students of middle schools who would be interested in study at one of the accredited study programmes at MTF STU—Trnava was held. The programme started at 10 a.m. with a speech by the vice-dean for bachelor study Assoc. Prof RNDr. Mária Mišútová, PhD. The speech was followed with a video presentation on each of the offered study programmes.
After the official programme in the Lecture Hall of Prof. Adamka on Bottova Street the students moved to the particular workplaces – the faculty institutes where they could hear more detailed information on their activities, study programmes, and concrete curricula, and they could see the faculty environment. In laboratories there were presentations on topics from the areas of material properties, reverse engineering, art casting, dangerous chemical reactions, evidentiary reactions in chemistry, as well as robotics and pneumatics. The students had the possibility to see examples of products and to try some devices. In seminar rooms questions from applicants interested in study of management and informatics were answered.
We are glad that we could inform students about the enrollment process and to explain specific features of our study programmes in a friendly atmosphere. Acknowledgment is made to department employees who personally met interested students as well as employees of the Division of Academic Activities for preparation, organization and offering of general information about the enrollment process and study. We want to also thank employees of the Division of Maintenance and the Division of Information Systems.
Approximately 350 students from middle schools used the chance to see the faculty environment; they came from not only Trnava, but as well as Malacky, Myjava, Piešťany and other Slovak towns.
