On the 25th March 2013, 81 teachers from the whole of Slovakia were granted St Gorazd medals and thank-you letters by Dušan Čaplovič – Minister of Education, Science, Research and Sport, on the occasion of the International Day of teachers. The ceremony was held in the premises of the historical building of the Slovak National Council in Bratislava.
Moral awards, in the category of education, named after St. Gorazda - large medal, a small medal and a letter of thanks - are the highest level of awards in education and have a tradition from the year 1997.
The Great Medal of St. Gorazd was awarded to the following MTF STU employees:
Prof. Ing. Dasha Hrivňáková, DrSc. - for her long-term educational and scientific work in the field of physical metallurgy and materials engineering
Prof. Dr. Ing. Oliver Moravčík – for his scientific and educational work and contribution to the development of university education in Slovakia.
