The MTF - is the faculty with a
major improvement amongst the technical faculties in Slovakia regarding ARRA
evaluation.

Dear Colleagues,
On the 30-11-2011 the ranking and rating agency (ARRA) published a report
"Evaluation of university faculties in 2011." I am pleased to say
that our faculty is amongst the 23 technical faculties of the Slovak
universities, it ranked in eighth place. Of the 7 STU faculties we are the
fourth. Pour previous yearly positions were: 2008: 16th, 2009:18th, 2010:18th)
and a regular seventh position in the STU that is the most significant shift in
the institution evaluated.
Several times I have expressed some doubts about the value of the notice of the
criteria and in particular the complexity in assessing the quality, excellence
of university institutions, the fact remains that the results are widely
publicized by ARRA and have a strong
influence on the image of the faculty in the academic environment, towards the
general public and also among the candidates of study.
After analyzing the results achieved, regarding the various categories of
criteria, I can say:
-
The MTF has reached a solid level of criteria that reflects the qualification structure of the teachers and the ratio of all students to teachers in a number of skill categories. I note that the qualification structure of teachers has been evaluated a weak.
-
In attractiveness of studies we are above average.
-
we have significant reserves in the activities of publishing and responses to it. That's why the MTF management recently changed their strategy to support publications, including publication rules for PhD students in order to improve compliance with this criterion. I suppose that the next evaluation will show our attitude.
The assessment of doctoral study, we achieved an average within the STU and above average in Slovakia.
In the category of obtaining grant funds we have
traditionally been one of the weakest. In the last evaluation, we are on the
3rd place within the technical faculties in the SR. A weakness of our activities
is now our advantage.
If we want to maintain the position gained, we must not lose sight of the
successful implementation of those criteria and to improve where we are now
failing. We have everything you need , but it depends on whether the wish to turn
into a permanent reality.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Thank you for your success. It is the result of all of you.
