The 17th annual Students’ Scientific Conference (SVK) took place at the MTF STU in Trnava on the 21st March 2013 as a culmination of students' scientific and professional activities at the faculty.
The conference was attended by 111 students in 13 sections from which there were 71 fulltime undergraduates, 33 fulltime Masters students of Engineering, 4 full-time students from the combined form of engineering study, 2 full-time students from the combined form of undergraduate study and one student from the University of Žilina. The presented works were prepared as “power point presentations” and as presentations in the form of posters.
In October 2012 the supervisors suggested 189 topics from which 102 were presented at this conference. The level of work was judged by expert committees consisting of teachers and researchers of our faculty. This year had a total of 49 experts working in the evaluation committees. There was a high quality of professional work. Thanks to all who participated, students, supervisors, administrators, heads of departments and the institutes’ workers, who organized the work related to ŠVOČ at the institutions. Thanks is also given to the Directors of the Institutes for their support at the conference, to the judges as well as all the others that contributed to this event. Thanks is given to the management of the faculty for financing and the material support of this event and also for the awarded motivational scholarships. Three of the best works in each of the 13 sections were awarded by a diploma from the Dean of the MTF STU and by a financial award (motivational scholarship).
Five winning works from the following sections:
Materials, Manufacturing Technologies 1, Health and Safety, Fire Engineering and Applied Informatics and Automation in Industry will be designated for a premium of the Literary Fund in the section for scientific and professional literature and computer programmes.
