The MTF is involved in a national project of the operational program Education “Universities as engines of development of a knowledge society.”
On the 12th June 2013, on the premises of the IUVENTA in Bratislava, with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic, the President of the accreditation committee, academic officials and executives involved in, especially engineering and science, educational institutions and representatives of employers' associations and enterprises, inaugurated the project operational program Education “Universities as engines of development of a knowledge society.” The Institute of Information and Prognoses of Education (UIPS) coordinate the project. The MTF STU was amongst the first addressed authorities.
The project aims to align higher education with real practical needs in terms of a knowledge society. The main planned activities are:
- assessment of existing study programs to identify and promote the most successful of them,
- creation of conditions for contracted cooperation between universities and enterprises to implement excursions and internships
- support innovative forms of training in enterprises and universities that create adequate training centres
- popularization of identified study programs.
The project is a pilot solution, the results of which should develop into systemic recommendations in this area. It will be implemented until November 2015, while it is assumed that the MTF will be represented in expert and working groups, participation of students in activities and the possibility of involving all institutes of the faculty in selected activities.
