Students of the MTF STU continued their success in ŠVK not only at the STU, but also at other universities. i.e,
Thomas Shotter, 2nd year in the field of computer aided production technologies gained second place in the English language section in the ŠVK round in spite of the hard competition. This took place at the UŠVK on the 13th of May 2009.
Another event took place for students "scientific conference of students 1st and 2 degree of university study", which was held on the 7th April 2009 at the Faculty of Natural Sciences UCM in Trnava.,The following 3rd year students won the English language round,
Matej Pecháček gained 2nd place, Jan Babcan gained 3rd place, and Ivan Szilva, a 2nd year student gained 4th place
