07.12.2012 Interviews with practice III. "The industrial world in 2020”
On the 26th of November 2012 at the MTF STU in Trnava, the third lecture in the series "Discussions with practice" took place. This was lectured by doc. Ing. Jan Lešinský, CSc. - Head of the institute for lifelong learning at the STU. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Slovak Technical University (now University of Technology) in Bratislava, his study field was transport machines and equipment, specializing in motor vehicles

09.10.2012 Visit to the University of Zelena Hora in Poland
On the 19th to the 21st September 2012 staff from the Institute of Safety and Environmental Engineering of the MTF STU visited the machining faculty of the university of Zelena Hora and the centre of renewable sources of energy at the higher professional school in Sulechow in Poland. Those that visited were: Ing. Ivana Tureková, PhD., Ing. Kristína Gerulová, PhD., RNDr. Maroš Sirotiak, PhD. and Ing. Jozef Martinka, PhD.

06.09.2012 Summer University for high school students 2012
The Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava during the 3rd to 5th September 2012, will hold the fourth annual event called Summer University for high school students. The Faculty of Materials Science and Technology in Trnava, as one of the seven faculties of STU, participates in the creation of this event. On the 4th September 2012 we will welcome, within our faculty, in area on Bottova Street, the high school students from different parts of Slovakia. The presentation shown will be focused on the mission of the faculty and its teaching facilities, as well as the life of students at the MTF.

06.08.2012 Visitor from the University of Wollongong in Dubai at the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology in Trnava
On 17th of July 2012 a visit took place to the Institute of Industrial Engineering, Management and Quality (UPMK) by a colleague from the United Arab Emirates. Dr. K. Prakash Vel from University of Wollongong in Dubai was admitted to our academic area by D. Cagáňová, Ph.D., assoc. prof.; J. Šujanová, Ph.D., assoc. prof. and P. Hodulíková, Ph.D. to discuss the specific issues of the upcoming collaboration. Firstly, there was a talk presented by Dr. K. Prakash Vel regarding the topic of "Destination Marketing". In his presentation, which was attended by UPMK Ph.D. students and employees of UPMK, Dr. K. Prakash Vel highlighted the important aspects in the development of destinations.

12.06.2012 Visit of Ižhevsk State Technical University
On the 1st June 2012, the Vice Dean - Prof. Dr. Ing. Jozef Peterka, on behalf of the Dean, accepted a delegation from the Ižhevsk State Technical University, led by Rector Prof. Dr. Ing. Boris Yakimovich, Vice-rectors of the University -Alexander Balitsky, Alexander Elensky and Prof. Alexander Repka. The MTF was represented by the following: Vice dean for pedagogy. - Doc. Ing. Peter Schreiber, CSc., Vice dean for Internal relations-Doc. Ing. Maria Mišútová, PhD. , Vice Dean for PR - Doc. Ing. Helena Vidova, PhD. and the Director of UVTE. Prof. Ing. Koloman Ulrich, PhD. The aim of the meeting was to define areas for future cooperation in both pedagogy and in research and development with an emphasis on materials science and technologies.

23.-25. 05. 2012 Lectures of Prof. Karapetrovič (Alberta, Canada)
On the 23rd till 25th of May 2012 at the MTF STU a series of lectures took place by Prof. Stanislav Karapetrovič PhD, PEng. University of Alberta (Canada) which were dedicated to the topics of quality and evaluation of university teachers and teaching in Canada. There were three lectures for teachers, researchers and students of the faculty. In addition to lectures, Professor Karapetrovič implemented individual consultations to interested teachers and students of the MTF STU.
JANUARY 2012
On the 18th January 2012, The MTF had a visit from his magnificence – The Rector of Trnava University, Professor Marek Šmid. The Dean of our faculty and Professor Marek Šmid discussed possible ways to improve mutual coexistence of both entities universities in Trnava and their academic cooperation in promoting the interests of the city and region. Both academic officials expressed satisfaction with the current state of positive relations and agreed to its continuous improvement.
