The Integrated Safety study program focuses on the training of graduates who are experts in occupational safety and health, fire engineering and environmental engineering. Emphasis is placed on the ability to practically apply the acquired knowledge.

Knowledge
The graduate of the doctoral study program Integrated Safety knows to:
- characterize the issue of integrated safety in the field of industrial enterprises and in the field of services
- describe and explain scientific knowledge in the fields of safety, fire and environmental engineering
- characterize the problems in the field of integrated safety
- characterize documentation related to the scientific areas of integrated safety and related legislation and can describe scientific solutions to safety and environmental problems
- scientifically characterize and classify hazardous substances, describe their properties and, based on their properties, describe the methods of handling these substances
- describe and scientifically explain the issues of risk analysis, assessment and management and draw conclusions from the findings based on their own findings
- scientifically characterize and classify the parameters of the work environment and describe solutions to increase safety
- describe scientific knowledge in the field of fire characteristics of the workplace and the working environment and is able to process highly professional documentation related to fire engineering.
Skills
Graduates of the doctoral study program Integrated Safety know and can:
- prepare scientific documentation in the field of integrated safety
- apply scientific knowledge in the fields of fire and explosion theory, risk management methods, environmental studies and environmental chemistry, extinguishing agents and fire safety, toxicology, remediation technologies and waste management or environmental protection and safety
- process and solve scientific problems in the field of safety and design of safer workplaces, environmental studies
- prepare scientific documentation in the field of occupational safety and health, environmental studies and fire engineering and related legislation
- propose scientific solutions to problems in the field of safety, fire and environmental engineering
- prepare scientific documentation related to the requirements of the working environment in the field of environmental studies and safety
- to work scientifically with dangerous substances, to assess and determine their properties and on the basis of their properties to propose scientific solutions for the handling of these substances
- to carry out risk analysis, assessment and management and to draw scientific conclusions from the findings on the basis of their own findings
- Scientific assessment of quality and environmental quality and raising its level
- apply knowledge and propose scientific solutions in the field of workplace safety and dedicated technical equipment
- set the parameters of the working environment and propose scientific solutions to increase safety
- determine and critically assess the fire-technical characteristics of the workplace and working environment and be able to scientifically process documentation related to fire engineering
Competence
A graduate of the Integrated Safety study program has ability to:
- work independently as a leading authorized safety technician mastering the basics in the field of safety, environment and fire protection
- work independently as a fire protection technician and as a specialist for major industrial accidents
- independently scientifically analyze safety and environmental issues and propose scientifically innovative solutions in the monitored areas
- to work independently as a scientific expert in scientific institutions at universities in Slovakia and abroad
- keep professional and scientific documentation of the production company in the field of safety, environment and fire protection
At the end of the study, the graduate of the doctoral degree prepares a dissertation on safety, fire protection and the environment in order to demonstrate the scientific knowledge and skills acquired during the study.

The graduate of the doctoral degree will work as an independent researcher in the field of safety and health protection at work. It can be used in the field of research in this field all over the world, as well as in the field of colleges and universities. It can independently design and solve health and safety problems and so it can also be used in senior management functions related to health and safety and environmental technologies.
