CENTER OF EXCELLENCE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT D APPLICATION OF PROGRESSIVE DIANOSTIC METHODS IN THE PROCESSES OF METALLIC AND NONMETALIC MATERIALS.

The main focus of the project is to build a modern, dynamic center of excellence with analytical methods utilizing the current state of the art of interaction of an electron and laser beam with matter.

The center will be equipped with modern instrumentation technology:

 

  • Lining high resolution microscope with a thermal FEG cathode completed with a set of detection systems EDS, WDS and EBSD preparation of samples via ion milling.
    laser confocal microscope with two independent laser beams for wavelengths between 400 nm and 600 nm.
    Universal Testing Machine for the Evaluation of mechanical properties of metallic and non metalic materials.
    Test equipment to monitor the dynamics of failured processes.
    Apparatus for the measurement of AC conductivity of non-metallic materials at elevated temperatures.
    Spectrum analyzer that allows the modular measurement of impeding and modular spectra of non-metallic materials and composites.
  • rotary viscometer.

Objective of the project:

 Building a modern dynamic material analysis center of excellence with an emphasis on achieving outcomes above standard, which will be useful in the learning process for dealing with doctoral work in specific areas of assessment of material properties. Providing solutions of unfinished scientific projects for the applicant's workplace. Provision of  superior customer service of  expert activities for regional industrial enterprises in the automotive, energy and electronics industries. Creation of a scientific-technological device base for participating in international R & D networks. Increase in the publishing activity especially within current journals.

APRODIMET provides the following services for postgraduates, researchers and professional experience:
1. Analysis of microstructures, nanostructures and microchemical composition of materials,
2. Surface analysis method of confocal microscopy (roughness, 3D morphology, geometric dimensions)
3. Determining the mechanical properties of materials
4. Determination of low electrical conductivity
