On May 12 and 13, 2025, representatives of the University of Alberta in Edmonton visited our faculty - P.Eng. Stanislav Karapetrovic, PhD.; P.Eng. Sadrzadeh Mohtada, PhD.; P.Eng. Arman Hemmati and P.Eng. Mostafa Yakout. The delegation was welcomed by the dean of the faculty, prof. Ing. Miloš Čambál, CSc., vice-dean for education, doc. Ing. Dagmar Babčanová, PhD., and vice-dean for strategic projects and mobility, Ing. Libor Ďuriška, PhD. The two-day program included a seminar "Bio-inspiration & Biomimetics in Fluid Mechanics" (Arman Hemmati) intended for bachelor and master students and a seminar "Data-Driven 3D Printing of High-Performance Metallic and Ceramic Materials" (Mostafa Yakout) for PhD. students, researchers and teachers. The program then continued with a presentation of the Advanced Technologies Research Institute (Assoc. Prof. Ing. Róbert Riedlmajer, PhD; Ing. Dušan Vaňa, PhD.), the Institute of Materials (doc. Ing. Roman Moravčík, PhD.; doc. Ing. Ivona Černičková, PhD.; Ing. Libor Ďuriška, PhD.), the Institute of Production Technologies (Assoc. Prof. Ing. Ladislav Morovič, PhD.) and the Institute of Applied Informatics, Automation and Mechatronics (Ing. Bohuslava Juhásová, PhD.; Ing. Lukáš Špendla, PhD.) including a visit to the laboratories. During the visit, opportunities for expanding cooperation between the two institutions were identified, especially in the field of academic mobility and research.
