Modules:
- Computer-Aided Design and Production
- Production Devices and Systems
EDUCATION OBJECTIVES
The study program computer aided design and production incorporates the latest scientific and practical knowledge necessary for the performance of the engineering profession or for preparation for doctoral studies. In profiling subjects, emphasis is also placed on practicing students' independence in the form of semester assignments. The study program is designed modularly so that the student can create a profile of the graduate according to their preferences. It can profile itself through a selection of electives, specializing in computer aided design and manufacturing or manufacturing equipment systems. Within the selected profiling, the graduate acquires specific knowledge, skills and abilities according to the content of a specific specialization.
Knowledge
Module: computer aided design and production
The aim of education in this module is to provide graduates with knowledge and understanding of the complex issues of CA systems and CA technologies used in the preparation and management of production with the ability to complete them, adjustments for special requirements and create specialized applications and superstructures, with the ability to perform and lead teams implementing engineering computer analysis, simulation of production processes, design production units using computer support, can work as a leader of work teams using computer technology in the field of technical preparation of production and apply as a company manager and private entrepreneur in the application of computer technology and CA systems, preferably in areas of production support.

The graduate will receive a complete first-level university education in the field of Production Engineering with an orientation on mechanical engineering, including maintenance and means of mechanization and automation. He will understand the engineering technologies and tools used. He will have knowledge of the basics of management, environmental studies, safety and health at work, will be able to solve problems in the field of technical materials, their properties, as well as the mechanics of machines. It will be ready either for the study of the study program of production equipment and systems of the second degree or for the immediate entry into the labor market. The graduate will find employment as a designer of automated production systems and equipment, or as a technologist, independent entrepreneur in engineering services or as a specialist in various places in production and technology departments.

Skills
Graduates have practical skills in the application of CAx systems for production design, design of technological workplaces, for automated design of technological processes, for the design and production of shape-complex components for the automotive or aerospace industries. It can use modern 3D computer software CAD, CAQ, CAM, CAE, CAA and modern CNC machines and 3D printers. He develops his skills in the field of simulations of machining processes and simulations of forming processes. All the knowledge acquired during the study can be practically verified on many devices and machines available in laboratories and the Center of Excellence for 5-axis machining. Graduates have practical skills in the control of mechanical components, where they can apply optical 3D scanning, computed tomography, reverse engineering and coordinate optical measurement. In the CAA area, they will gain skills in product design in terms of assembly, design of assembly workplaces and systems. They have skills in software used in computer assembly support.
Competences
The graduate is able to solve with a high degree of independence complex problems, especially in the technical and production area, but also in the organizational and management workshop area. Can optimize production processes. He is able to identify the key, especially technological causes of problems and then propose corrective measures of a technological nature, which lead to increased productivity, reduced costs and overall efficiency of the technological process.
The graduate has the ability to apply the acquired skills for the design of complex shaped parts, is able to design the technological process of production, generate a CNC program for the production of parts, design a control plan, apply and evaluate the measurement procedure and design assembly procedures for products. He is able to effectively solve specific problems that occur in the chain CAD-CAM-CNC-CAQ-CAA. The graduate masters the most modern ICT, which he is able to use in his practice.
APPLICATION OF GRADUATE
Indication of occupation
According to the System of Occupations (on sustavapovolani.sk and https://www.kvalifikacie.sk/kartoteka-kariet-kvalifikacii#/), it will be applied to specific job positions such as:
- Engineering technologist,
- Engineering automation specialist,
- Engineering specialist technologist,
- Mechanical automation technician,
- Engineering laboratory technician,
- Engineering Specialist, Designer,
- Manager in mechanical engineering.
The graduate is qualified to perform the profession of Mechanical Specialist Technologist (production engineer, production manager). Lead small teams implementing engineering computer analysis, simulation of production processes and design production units. Graduates can also work as leaders of work teams using computer technology in the field of technical preparation of production and are able to apply as managers of companies and private entrepreneurs in the field of application of computer technology and CA systems in production.
The graduate is prepared for the study of the 3rd degree of university study and can, with the help of the acquired knowledge and skills, directly continue the study in the follow-up doctoral study program Mechanical Engineering Technologies and Materials. https://www.mtf.stuba.sk/sk/uchadzacov/prijimacie-konanie-na-inziniersky-stupen-studia/pocitacova-podpora-navrhu-a-vyroby.html?page_id=14077.
Employment of graduates
Study program Computer Aided Design and Production, as a continuation of the study programs Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology - Automation and Robotization of Technological Processes, Machining, Forming, Welding, Foundry, Computer Aided Design and Production Support, Production Engineering, Production Equipment and Systems, less than 70 years old During his existence he educated a number of successful graduates who worked in the commercial and academic spheres. Several personalities worked at this workplace, who laid the foundation of the current scientific and pedagogical school - computer support. They were mainly prof. Ing. Ján Békés, DrSc., Prof. Ing.
