On the 11th and 12th March 2013 a two-day training workshop took place at the Institute of Industrial Engineering, Management and Quality (UPMK),delivered by renowned expert in the field of management, Professor Nigel J. Holden, from Leeds Business School in the United Kingdom. Professor Nigel J. Holden was warmly welcomed to the Institute by her Vice-director for Foreign Affairs and International Projects, Dagmar Cagáňová, M.A., Ph.D., Assoc. Prof.; and student, Paul Woolliscroft, M.Sc.
Professor Holden’s main fields of expertise cover cross-cultural management, knowledge management, international marketing, management change in Russia and East/Central Europe, marketing in Japan, and intercultural business communication.
During the two-day workshop, in Slovakia, Professor Nigel J. Holden delivered a series of highly valuable and informative lectures which were attended by PhD students and employees from the Institute. The overall theme of the workshop was to improve student’s ability to write good academic management English for the purposes of authoring a Ph.D. dissertation. The workshop also provided students and employees with the skills to become a competent researcher and secondly, to enhance employability in the field of management research and education.
