13.01.2011 Initial meeting of ESF project participants „Development of pedagogical skills of FMST SUT´s doctoral students in Trnava
In the first part of the ESF project "Development of pedagogical skills of FMST SUT's doctoral students in Trnava"/ ITMS: 26110230023 and Activities 1.1 Preparation and implementation of a modular course "Practicum of university Pedagogy for doctoral students" took place on Monday the 17th of January in the large auditorium of the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology SUT with residence in Trnava on Pauline Street, this was an initial meeting of project participants.
17.01.2011 New Year´s meeting of FMST SUT´s employees
On the 20th of January the New Year's meeting of the FMST SUT's employees and friends took place. The meeting started with an address of the Dean of the faculty - Prof. Dr. Oliver Moravčíka and the chairman of the Academic Senate of the FMST SUT- doc. Ing. Miloš Čambál, CSc. Vice rector Prof. Ing. František Janíček, PhD. , gave a greeting on behalf of his magnificence the Rector of the SUT.
28.01.2011 Open day on the 27th January 2011 of the FMST SUT
On the 27th of January 2011 the annual open day event for prospective students of the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology in Trnava took place. Representatives of the FMST's institutes gave information about the accredited programs of the faculty and also material and technical equipment of their workplaces, to the visiting secondary school students.

09.02.2011 Opening the exhibition of Professor Marônek
On the 3rd of February 2011, at the premises of the Laboratory of magnetic fields at the invitation of Helmholtz Centre in Dresden, the opening of an exhibition by Prof. Milan Marônka of the UVTE FMST SUT in Trnava took place.
11.02.2011 Dies Iovis Occurssus XIII
At the beginning of this event the students from the art school of Mikuláš Schneider Trnavsky in Trnava played two compositions on the accordion. The main guest of the meeting this time was the Head of the Neurology Department at Trnava, MUDr. Georgi Krastev, PhD., who lectured on the topic of Vascular brain strokes.
24.02.2011 Open day at the detached workplace in Komarno
On the 18th of February 2011, an open day took place at the detached workplace in Komárno, this was held under the direction of Ing. Peter Szabo, PhD. and was for high school students from the region Komarno. The event was of significant interest to the graduates. In addition to information about the method of admission procedures there were lectures presented by the following : Ing. J. Czifra, PhD., Ing. J. Sztankay, CSc., Ing. P. Pinke, CSc., Ing. J. Németh, Ing. L. Morovič, PhD. - all from the MTF and Ing. J. Líška - from the University of Kecskemét.

13.04.2011 ŠVK at the MTF STU
On the 7th of April 2011 the 15th year of the Students Scientific Conference (ŠVK) took place at the MTF STU. In twelve sections 109 students took place. The presented works were presented as PowerPoint and poster presentations. In October 2010 supervisors suggested 227 topics from which 101 were presented at the ŠVK. The level of work was evaluated by professional juries composed from pedagogical and research workers of the faculty.

06.05.2011 Meeting of Vice-Deans of STU for development
On the 05.05. 2011 at the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology, a meeting regarding development was held by the STU's Vice-Deans. This was chaired by the Vice-Rector of the STU - Prof. Ing. Milan Sokol, PhD. Dr. Ing. Jozef Peterka, from our faculty, attended the meeting. The meeting discussed the passportization of the premises at the STU and a strategic investment plan of the STU's faculties. After the meeting a visit to the campus at Bottova Street took place to see the Centre of Excellence- 5-axis machining.
13.05.2011 3rd Teachers Conference of the MTF STU
On the 12th of May 2011 at the MTF STU the 3rd Teachers Conference of the MTF STU took place. At the begging the Dean of the faculty invited the participants and shortly summarised the conference aims. In a short address he pointed out some problem areas in the activities of the faculty and topics which could resonate in the academic community. Following this the vice Deans and the Head of OAKC,in agreement with the program, presented the thematic fields that showed concrete statistical data. After the presentation a discussion took place were the participants presented their opinions and had the opportunity to ask the Dean and other members of the faculty's management questions.
17.05.2011 Scientific conference dedicated to Professor Pavol Glesk
On the 06/05/ 2011 on the campus of the MTF STU in Trnava, a scientific international conference entitled "In support of project VEGA", was organized in remembrance of prof. PhDr. Pavol Glesk, PhD. The scientific conference was entitled "In support of Project VEGA" and was organized by the Department of Physical Education and Sport ÚIPH. The introduction and opening of the conference was held by the director of ÚIPH- prof. Ing. Sáblík Jozef, PhD. Who highlighted the need for meetings of university teachers on campus for the exchange of scientific knowledge.
19.05.2011 Students of the Faculty of Materials Science, winners of the football tournament „Cup of UCM Rector" in Trnava
Students of the MTF STU in Trnava on the 09/ 05/ 2011 Inter-University participated in the Inter-University tournament "Cup of UCM Rector". In the Town sports hall a competition with 10 teams from 4 universities were present. Our students from the MTF gradually won all matches in their group and progressed from first place in the semi finals and eventually to the final.

13.09.2011 PhD. competition on innovation in the automotive sector 2011
The automotive network for Innovation in south east Europe (ACSEE) in cooperation with various partners of AUTOCLUSTERS project (including the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology in Trnava) declares the 1st year of Ph.D. Competition Ph.D. COMPETITION ON INNOVATION IN THE AUTOMOTIVE SECTOR 2011 the best paper focused on innovation in the automotive sector. AUTOCLUSTERS is a project co-funded by South East Europe programme and European Union funds.

On the 12th of September 2011, in our physical education faculty premises, " Sports Day of the MTF STU employees" took place. One hundred and six employees took place in 16 sports disciplines. Thanks to all participants for their participation and we congratulate performance. Here are the results of the most successful employees in various sporting disciplines.

From the 7.9 - 10.9.2011, in Trojanovce (CR), the 18th International Conference 2011 of Forming took place. This year the conference was hosted by the Department of forming materials FMMI, Technical University of Ostrava. The conference was co-organized by the Department of forming: VSB - Technical University of Ostrava, FMMI, Department of forming materials, Politechnika Śląska Katowice, Department of Technology of materials and our Department of forming. These conferences have been focusing for a long-time on problems of the deformation behaviour of various types of modern alloys of non-ferrous metals, advanced technologies for their efficient processing and thermodynamic physical and mathematical simulation methods leading to the optimization of forming processes.

06.10.2011 MTF STU participant in World Tourism Day
On the 25th of September the faculty of the MTF opened the on the premises of the former Botanical Garden, which has had revitalization since 2005, on the occasion of World Day Tourism Day. The participants were able to be part of a one and a half hour lecture connected with tree inspection. The total estimated number of participants was approximately 130 to 150 people. After the lecture, we received positive reactions from the visitors. The garden is used for field trips of elementary and secondary schools; these can be arranged with our faculty staff.
13.10.2011 Small Carpathians Marathon (MKM)
Dear sports friends, athletes and colleagues, on behalf of the Organizing Committee of the Small Carpathian Marathon in Trnava, I have the honour to invite you as competitors and also as spectators to our traditional sporting event - the 36th Small Carpathian Marathon (MKM), will be held on the 16/10/2011 (Sunday) with its start at 10 am (open at 9.45 am) in front of the student's hostel of Milos Uher, 23 J. Botto Street, Trnava. The marathon's route starts from Trnava and and leads through the villages : Suchá nad Parnou, Horné Orešany, Smolenice, Lošonec, Dolné Orešany a Košolná s ending back in Trnava in front of the student's hostel of Milos Uher.
13.10.2011 STU at the trade fare of education AKADÉMIA© and VAPAC© in Bratislava
From the 4th to the 6th of October 2011 the 15th trade fare of AKADÉMIA© and VAPAC© in Bratislava's Sibamac Arena. The fair is annually dedicated to offering higher education in Slovakia and abroad for high school and university students. The Slovak University of Technology was presented in a common exposure in which the exhibited seven faculties and the whole university Institute. In a joint stand the STU representatives of all the faculties offered promotional materials and other important information. In addition to promoting the stand the STU Vice Rectors were presenting study programs and study options at the STU faculties this was accompanied by an information seminar. The MTF STU is part of a promotion from the vice Deans doc. Vidova, doc. Mišútová, doc. Schreiber, workers of OAKČ Ing Štefánková, Mgr.Ivančíková and other workers from the study department.

04.11.2011 Conference Team 2011 took place
On the 19th to the 21st of October 2011 the third annual international scientific conference of TEAM 2011 took place in collaboration with the TEAM Society and the seventeenth annual Scientific Conference CO-MAT-TECH. There was more than 100 participants, with almost half of the lecturers from abroad. The management of the TEAM Society expressed delight over the fact that almost half of their contributors were PhD students and their factual content was high.
04.11.2011 Slovak championship team in powerlifting Triathlon 2011
On the 15th of October 2011, on the campus of the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology STU in Trnava, the first year of Sloakia in the the powerlifting triathlon championship took place. The event was held under the auspices of the Vice Major of Trnava, Ing. Bystrík Stanko. AWPC - Slovakia as the main organizer, at the beginning they surprised everyone by their choice of location. The relatively small gym of KTVŠ after several hours of work, was transformed into a perfectly prepared sports fields with everything that the competitors needed.
11.11.2011 Ceremonial imatriculations in the academic year of 2011/2012
On the 28.10.2011 and 11.02.2011 in the auditorium of Prof. Čabelku the academic matriculation ceremony took place- solemn entry and admission of new students enrolled in their first year of study at the MTF STU in Trnava, in Dubnica and Komarno. With the participation of the academic officials - ViceDean Prof. Dr. Ing. Jozef Peterka, Prof. Ing. Peter Grgač, CSc., Doc. RNDr. Maria Mišútovea, PhD., Doc. Ing. Peter Schreiber, CSc. Students took an oath "Imatriculation oath of the students on the insignia on MTF - Sceptre of the faculty. The matriculation ceremony was also attended by the head of the detached workplace in Dubnica nad Vahom doc. Ing. Bartolomej Hájnik, PhD. and the Head of the detached workplace in Komarno - Ing. Peter Szabó, PhD.
21.11.2011 Scientific seminar of Welding Technology 2011 - technology of EU industrial development
On the 8th of November 2011 in the premises of the PRVA ZVÁRAČSKÁ, a. s. Kopčianska Street in Bratislava, during the Week of Science and Technology in Slovakia 2011, the traditional scientific seminar of Welding Technology 2011 - technology of EU industrial development took place. The event was organized by the following companies : PRVA ZVÁRAČSKÁ, a. s., STU Bratislava (MTF, FEI, SjF), MEDZINÁRODNÉ LASEROVÉ CENTRUM and TRUMPF SLOVAKIA, s. r. o. Participants in this year's seminar acquainted themselves with the laser centre of PRVA ZVÁRAČSKÁ, a. s. which added a high-end disk laser of the latest generation- TruDisk 8002 TRUMPF, with a power rating of 8 kW.
22.11.2011 Meeting with former employees of the faculty
On the 10th of November 2011, in the premises of the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology on Botto Street, for the third time a meeting with of the Dean's Advisory Board of the Faculty with former employees. After the Dean's welcoming speech and a short musical performance all present were informed about the faculty's activities. Subsequently, our former employees viewed the new premises of the Centre of Excellence and the multimedia classroom.

07.12.2011 Santa Claus at the MTF
On Saturday 03/12/2011 at the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology, Santa Claus visited on the Polar Express with his company - devils and angels. This year he prepared a pile of children's gifts, but they had to earn it. Before the arrival of Nicholas the fun devil and angel care, children who have prepared an interesting program. In addition to dancing, you can give kids face painted or remodel can give animals from balloons.
08.12.2011 Gala evening at the theater
On the 12/06/2011, a gala evening at the STU took place to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the faculty. The Dean - Prof. Dr. Ing. Oliver Moravčík praised the staff of the faculty who have been there for 25 years. This was followed by a theatrical performance called "She came at night". The evening was completed with a reception of in the Mirrored hall. The event was moderated by the Vice Dean for Internal Relations Doc. Ing. Helena Vidova, PhD.

On Wednesday, 14.12.2011, a Colloquium on the occasion of the life anniversary of Prof. Ing. Ivan Hrivňák, DrSc., took place at the MTF STU. This pleasant social event was linked with the launch of the textbook "materialography". Its authors are professors Dasa and Ivan Hrivňák. Best wishes to your 80th anniversary and successe to the publication were wished by previous colleges and friends from the following partner institutions: VÚZ-PI Bratislava, VUJE Trnava, TU Košice, SAV Bratislava, ŽU Žilina, UMV SAV Košice, US Steel Košice a SES Tlmače.
