07.12.2012 Excursion to the company Johnson Controls Ltd. - Žilina branch
During the 28th of November 2012 a logistics survey was carried out during an excursion to the company of Johnson Controls Ltd. - Žilina branch. The company is a manufacturer of seats, consoles and roof lining for the car factory KIA Slovakia Inc. Students from the Industrial Management degree program had the opportunity to see how the assembly line supply works, the supply line sequencing, as well as the actual production of car seats, assembling finished products and the preparation of them for distribution. The guides were director- Ing. Ladislav Olík together with the logistics manager of Johnson Controls, Ltd. This event was supported by Ing. Peter Crika, a graduate from our faculty. Everyone involved in this was thanked for their time, willingness and interest.
07.12.2012 St. Nicolas visits the MTF STU
On Saturday the 12th of December in the premises of the MTF, there was visitation by a devil, angel and finally and most awaited by the children, St. Nicholas. The trio had prepared a rich program for the children; this was opened by a Devil with his hellish performance. The children were not afraid of this devil because they were obedient throughout the year with good deeds. The children danced and sung with the angel whilst receiving packets of sweets directly from St. Nicholas. At the end of the event, the children received balloons and there was face painting for those who were interested.
07.12.2012 Interviews with practice III. "The industrial world in 2020”
On the 26th of November 2012 at the MTF STU in Trnava, the third lecture in the series "Discussions with practice" took place. This was lectured by doc. Ing. Jan Lešinský, CSc. - Head of the institute for lifelong learning at the STU. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Slovak Technical University (now University of Technology) in Bratislava, his study field was transport machines and equipment, specializing in motor vehicles.
17.12.2012 The MTF STU held a Christmas charity Bazaar
On the 6th of December 2012, in the foyer of Z Pavilion on Paulinska Street and in the foyer of T Pavilion on Bottova Street, a Christmas charity Bazaar was held by staff and students of the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology STU. The event was organized under the auspices of the Dean of the faculty - Prof. Dr. Ing. Oliver Moravcik. The event was designed to aid socially disadvantaged people and homeless people in the Trnava region

We announce that the photo exhibition "Behind the Gates of the faculty," will be launched on the 25/10 - 02/11/2012. This aims to bring to the public of Trnava, a display of the premises of the faculty, its vision of development and its major events.
05.11.2012 Dies Iovis Occurssus XXV took place
On Thursday afternoons there are regular meetings with experts from different professional fields of scientific, cultural, and social life. On the 25/10/2012 at our faculty, we had the opportunity to welcome doc. MuDr. Julius Chrámec, PhD., he is the head of the Gynaecology and Obstetrics clinic at the Faculty’s Hospital in Trnava. In the afternoon the Deputy Dean- doc. Maria Mišútová, PhD., welcomed our special guest, along with moderator Ing. Milan Petráš, PhD.
05.11.2012 CO-MAT-TECH 2012 "Global Crisis - Opportunities and Threats"
On the 11th- 12th of October 2012 on the premises of the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology in Trnava of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (hereinafter "MTF STU") held its 20th International Scientific Conference of CO-MAT-TECH 2012 entitled "Global Crisis - opportunities and threats." The conference was organized by the institute of Industrial Engineering, Management and Quality (hereinafter "UPMK"). The MTF STU, in cooperation with the civic association of VIVAEDUCA, held under the auspices of the Minister of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic, doc. PhDr Dušan Čaplovič, DrSc. The conference was dedicated primarily to managers and employees of companies, scientific research workers, university teachers and students, employees of state and government administration and also to the wide scientific and professional community.
13.11.2012 MTF at the European Education Fair GAUDEAMUS 2012 in Brno
During the 30th of October till the 2nd of November 2012, the 19th European fair for postsecondary education and lifelong education called GAUDEAMUS 2012 took place in Brno. The fair, in F pavilion, introduced Czech, Slovak and foreign renowned universities, higher vocational and language schools that offer study programs. The MTF promoted accredited study programs for the sixth time at the fair, along with 198 other exhibitors.
13.11.2012 There has been a ceremonial matriculation of students in their first year of study - 2012/2013
On the 6th of November 2012 in the auditorium of Prof. Čabelka the ceremonial matriculation of first year students at the MTF STU in Trnava took place. Academic officials, Vice deans – doc. RNDr.Maria Mišútova, PhD. and doc. Ing. Petra Schreiber, CSc. handed students their matriculation certificates "student matriculation oath" on the insignia of the MTF – sceptre of the faculty.
13.11.2012 Dies Iovis Occurssus XXVI
Thursday's meeting of Dies Iovis Occurssus XXVI, on the 8th of November, opened with three skilled guitarists; they were students from the Elementary Art School M.S. Tranavsky, under the leadership of teacher Smažákova. After the initial cultural program the moderator Ing. Milan Petráš PhD. introduced the guest of the meeting- RNDr. Maria Bizubová, that was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology STU- Prof. Oliver Moravčík together with the Vice dean -doc. Peter Schreiber. RNDr. Bizubová is the author and co-author of textbooks, scientific and professional works among which those interested had the opportunity to purchase the book entitled “Kamene”.
14.11.2012 7th Seminar for Central European PhD Students - Research in Materials Science took place
The Institute of Materials Science of the MTF STU organized the 7th Seminar for Central European PhD Students - Research in Materials Science, which took place at the MTF STU (Bottova Street, the rooms Nos. 202 and 213) on 15 - 16th November 2012. The participants were PhD. students from the Vienna University of Technology (TUW), Graz University of Technology (TUG), Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest (ELTE), Charles University in Prague (KU), Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STU), Institute of Materials and Machine Mechanics of the Slovak Academy of Science in Bratislava (SAVM) and Institute of Materials Research of the Slovak Academy of Science in Košice (SAVR). 22.11.2012 Ivo Toman at the MTF STU
The MTF STU held a lecture by the known expert on personal development and a motivator - Ing. Ivo Toman called "IQ vs. EQ - Where is the way to success." He is a graduate of the University of Forestry and Wood Technology in Zvolen and is currently living and working in Prague (owner and founder of the International Society TAXUS International), due to his lecture, the lecture theatre of Prof. Čabelka on Paulinska Street was full. Students from the MTF STU and two other Trnava Universities, with a large interest. listened to his inspirational lecture accompanied by a slide presentation. At this lecture there were words such as: manipulation, personal development, success, IQ, emotional intelligence, internal and external motivation and many other terms. After the lecture, the debate started to heat up.
22.11.2012 Lecture by - Ladislav Kossar
On the 16.11.2012 the MTF STU held a lecture by Ladislav Kossar. Ladislav Kossar imparted his experience from his studies and varied employment to the students and staff. More about the lecturer: Ladislav Kossara graduated from the Law Faculty of Comineus University. During his studies in the Netherlands, Hungary and the USA he dealt with international law, intellectual property and capital markets. At Harvard he studied law and political science in addition to a relationship with the public and private sector. He worked for DeutscheBank in London, Frankfurt and Tokyo where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, asset management and investment banking. In 2004 he returned to Slovakia and founded the VENVIVIS company, which is dedicated to venture capital investing in innovative companies within Silicon Valley and Slovakia. In addition to his philanthropic activities, his investment activities are concentrated on improving the lives of people in need and to promote cultural and social projects.

09.10.2012 Opening of the Scientific Conference of Energy Sources of the future - Present and Future
On the 4th October 2012 the Chairman of the Trnava region -Tibor Mikus opened the scientific conference of Future Energy Sources - present and future. The co-organizer of the event is the MTF STU, who welcomed the participants of the conference at its premises on Paulinska Street. The scientific conference creates a space for the presentation of issues in the field of using solar, hydro, geothermal and wind energy and the field of material and energy utilized from biomass and waste as well as energy resources of regions.
09.10.2012 Dies Iovis Occurssus XXIV was held
On the 4th October 2012 in the academic year 2012/13 the first and overall twenty-fourth Dies Iovis Occurssus took place. The European holder of the Nobel Prize for Cultural Heritage - Europa Nostra, PHDr. Jiri Langer,CSc. opened this session. This prestigious award was awarded to the doctor for a self-illustrated monograph "Wooden churches and bell towers of Europe", a copy of which was circulated among the audience at yesterday's meeting on the subject of wooden churches in Central Europe as a cultural crossroads of history. This event was also attended by the Dean- Prof. Oliver Moravčík and the Vice Dean - Prof. Jozef Peterka.

On the 18th of October 2012 in room number Z-086 (small lecture theatre in Z), the LENOVO company’s presentation will take place. The purpose of the presentation is focused on student and job offers, preferably those looking for graduate study programs in industrial management and quality, but we also welcome students of other engineering study programs.

We would like to invite you to the photo exhibition of "Behind the Gates of the faculty," which aims to bring forward the premises of the faculty, its vision of development, its major events and public activities to Trnava. 26.10.2012 A presentation - J.Kuracina and the firm GRAND POWER took place
On 24.10.2012 a presentation by Mr. Jaroslav Kuracina within a series of lectures prepared by the JCI organization called "idea turned into a success." The lecture was facilitated by NGO JCI - Slovakia (Junior Chamber International-Slovakia), a subsidiary of one of the largest organizations for youth leaders and young entrepreneurs in the world.

14.09.2012 Enrolment of students admitted to the first year of study for Bachelor study (second round) and Doctoral study in the academic year of 2012/2013
On the 30th August 2012 the MTF STU welcomed the newly admitted students who enrolled in the first year of doctoral study. On behalf of the management of the faculty, the vice Dean (responsible for the second and third degree of study) - doc. Ing. Peter Schreiber,CSc. welcomed the students. During the 31st August and the 3rd of September 2012, enrollment took place for candidates that were accepted in the second round for a bachelor's degree study. The students were informed about the system of university study by the faculty’s study department. Applicants accepted and enrolled at the detached workplaces where they were welcomed by doc. Bartolomej Hajnik PhD –head of the detached workplace in Dubnica nad Vahom and Ing. Peter Szabo, PhD - Head of the detached workplace in Komarno.
14.09.2012 International Summer School
From the 2nd September until the 13th September 2012, at the MTF STU, in the frame of the Erasmus program (Education and Culture DG, LifelongLearningProgramme) International Summer School "Selected Issues of safety engineering and the exploitation of nuclear power plants in the context of the EU energy policy." The coordinator of the Summer School is the University of Wroclav and the guest sub-coordinator is the Institute of Safety and Environmental Engineering of the MTF STU in Trnava.
26.09.2012 Sesia of the Deans of mechanical faculties
On the 6th - 7 th September 2012, Sesia of the Deans of mechanical faculties took place. The MTF, on behalf of the Dean, was represented by Prof. Dr. Ing. Jozef Peterka together with the Vice-Deans- doc.Ing. Peter Schreiber,CSc. and doc. Ing. Helena Vidova, PhD. and the head of OESČ - Mgr. Elena Nemetzova. At the meeting there were issues discussed about the development and progress of individual faculties, education and quality of education and the training of teachers, promotion of technical studies as well as university funding.
26.09.2012 Records from the presentation of the MTF STU at the MSV in Brno
The faculty of Materials Science and Technology STU in Trnava, on the 9th – 14th September 2012, actively participated in the most important industrial trade fair in Central Europe - the International Engineering Fair in Brno 2012. Attendees was highly professional, there was more than 1500 exhibitors and 80,000 visitors. The MTF STU especially presented the centres of excellence and the research institutes in line with trade research, development, technology transfer, financial and other services.

06.08.2012 Seminar UMAT
On the 07.07.2012 in the campus at Bottova Street, in seminar room no. T-202, the annual conference of the international professional organization APDTC (Alloy Phase Diagram Thermodynamics Commission) was held, which is also a member of the MTF STU. After expert lectures, the participants had the opportunity to become acquainted with the laboratories of the Institute of materials of the MTF STU. During the cultural and social part of the conference, participants visited the historical part of Trnava and visited the town tower.
23.08.2012 Enrollment of students for the first year of their master's engineering degree - 2012/2013
On 20th - 22nd of August 2012 the MTF STU welcomed the new entrants who enrolled for their first year of studying for an master's engineering degree. The vice Dean- doc. Ing. Peter Schreiber CSc., on behalf of the management of the faculty, welcomed the students. During registration students were given information about the system of study by the head of the study department - Mgr. Ivančíková, information about staying in the hostel of M. Uher was given by its director Ing. Knap and the use of the Academic Information System OKIS was given by Ing. Otčenáš. An entrance briefing on the principles of health and safety at work and in the classroom was given by doc. Tureková.

03.06.2012 We celebrated with children
On the 2nd June 2012 the MTF STU and the Worker's board organized The International Children's Day (MDD) for the MTF STU's employees' children. A cultural program and gifts were prepared for the children. The children enjoyed themselves due to the efforts made by our faculty's organized events.

03.05.2012 Celebratory day at UPMK
On the 13th of April 2012 on the premises of the MTF STU in Bratislava with residence in Trnava (pavilion "T", Meeting Room T202) a celebratory meeting of employees and guests of the Institute of Industrial Engineering and Management and Quality (UPMK) took place. The aim of the meeting was to commemorate the jubilee of the formation and results of activities of the department of the Mechanical Industry of the Faculty of Economical Engineering, SVST Bratislava, whose successor is UPMK and the life jubilee of Prof. Ing. Alexander Linczény, CSc.
25.05.2012 International Doctoral Seminar 2012 took place
The 7th International Doctoral Seminar (IDS), organised by the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology with seat in Trnava, the Slovak University of Technology, took place in Smolenice castle. The seminar was organised for PhD students who could present the results of their scientific thesis in the area of engineering technologies, materials engineering, applied informatics and automation in industry, in idustrial engineering, management and quality, environmental and safety engineering as well as in human sciences.

05.04.2012 Report of the MTF day, how was it?
The Dean of the faculty planted a tree. It was a success! This was the beginning of a green tradition that will flourish pink every year. The program of the MTF was hosted by the vice-dean for internal relations -doc. Ing. Helen Vidova, PhD. The Dean of the faculty - Prof. Dr. Ing. Oliver Moravčík officially welcomed everybody, he reviewed efforts of the recent period and wished all good health and success. He reminded all present that it was Teachers Day, he did not forget all the non-teaching staff who are involved in running the academic environment.

The opening work was attended by the President of the Slovak Academy of Sciences Prof. RNDr. Jaromir Pastorek DrSc., Vice Rector of the STU Prof. Ing. The Faculty of Materials Science at the Slovak University of technology in Trnava, on the 29th of March 2012, the 16th Student Scientific Conference (SSL) took place. The conference was attended by twelve sections of 101 students, the work was displayed in the form of Power Point presentations or were necessary as posters.

12.03.2012 Lecture "Production systems in Volkswagen Slovakia" took place
On 06.03.2012 the lecture presentation of "Production systems in Volkswagen Slovakia" took place. It was open to students who were interested in employment practice within the company Volkswagen Slovakia. The latest VW model was shown. Students had the opportunity to become familiar with the company. The lecture hall was full and the questions exceeded the time limit.
14.03.2012 A presentation of the PMP Montex Ltd. Company has taken place
On the 7th of March 2012 a presentation of the PMP Montex Ltd company took place at the MTF STU for the students who are close to graduating. The company's focus has been presented by Mgr. Victoire Ivanova, director of HR and Ing. P. Danek and Ing. M. Sojka. During and after the presentation, students had the opportunity to ask for details about the company and also about any vacant positions. Most of the students used the opportunity to hand over their curriculum vitas and to ask for inclusion in the job seekers database.
15.03.2012 Evaluation of international swimming competitions
In the indoor swimming pool of the MTF STU on the 10th and 11th of March 2012 the 38th annual international swimming competition took place. This is the most important swimming competition in Slovakia, with the participation of 360 swimmers from 31 swimming clubs and troops greeted the President of the Trnava Region Ing. Tibor Mikus and the Mayor of Trnava Ing. Vladimir Butko. The swimming was opened by the MTF's Vice Dean - Prof. Dr. Ing. Jozef Peterka.
22.03.2012 Foreign excursion of PhD form the MTF STU
From the 27th of February till the 3rd of March 2012, the project "Development of teaching skills of MTF STU graduates" was attended by 40 PhD students and three staff - doc. Ing. Roman Hrmo, PhD., Ing. Lucia Krištofiaková, PhD. and Mgr. Dušan Fedič, PhD. all took a foreign trip to Estonia. During the excursion they visited the university and departments of - Tallinn University of Technology and the Estonian Centre for Engineering Pedagogy TUT, they were dealing with issues of development regarding teaching skills to graduates.
29.03.2012 Dies Iovis Occurssus XXI
Yesterday was Thursday's afternoon of another meeting with the traditional figures of social and economic life of the grounds of the MTF STU. The start of the lectures began with a performance of three compositions on guitar by students from the Elementary school of Nicholas Schneider Trnavsky in Trnava. The main guest of the meeting this time was the Slovak linguist - PhDr. Milan Majtán, DrSc., who lectured on the genesis and development of naming people in Slovakia. Doctor Majtán explained the origin and development of several names that are used in our country.
29.03.2012 There has been a presentation by the Company ESCAD Slovakia Ltd.
On the 27.3.2012 in the MTFs auditorium T 201, a presentation was held by the Company ESCAD Slovakia Ltd. The presentation was met with interested students of the faculty, the focus was mainly on machining, assembly and computer aided design and manufacturing. Representatives of the company were managers - Ľubica Leo, Milan Droppa and branch manager Tobias Grassman presented the ESCAD activities which focused on (3D) design, (2D) Detailing, preparation of documentation and RobCad simulation.

15.02.2012 Successful "Doctoral student's Week"
The event " Doctoral student's Week " was held during the 30th of January till the 3rd of February 2012. The coordinator of the event was the Vice-Dean for the third stage of study, doc. Schreiber. The preparation and organization of the event involved the help from student representatives of all institutions' PhD faculties. The collaboration created conditions that were spatial, financial and easy to handle during the several days event.
20.02.2012 9th project meeting, exchange study visit and AUTOCLUSTERS project "FINAL CONFERENCE" (08.02.2012 - 10.02.2012)
On the 08th February to the 10th of February 2012 the "Final Conference" was held, two exchange study visits and the 09th of Project Meeting of the AUTOCLUSTERS project (SEE/A/594/1.2/X) „International cooperation network of educational research institutions with subcontractors and other bodies active in Automotive Industry." The event organizers were from the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology in Trnava (MTF STU Trnava) and the Automotive Cluster - West Slovakia in Trnava. The project was supported and implemented in close collaboration with the Self Governing Region in Trnava, as well as the City of Trnava.
20.02.2012 The official opening of the research - educational centre established in the ITMS 262 202 200 56 project and the exhibition of equipment of the project connected with the presentation of results
On 10th of February 2012, the Institute of Safety and Environmental Engineering held the official opening of the research - educational centre established in the ITMS 262 202 200 56 "Hybrid electrical power source for a technical- consulting laboratory for use and promotion of renewable energy resources" and an exhibition of equipment used in the project connected with the presentation of results. The original "solar lab" developed under the Community Initiative INTERREG IIIA AT-SR is so widespread with the presentation of other renewable energy sources, particularly biomass and hydro-potential.

The economic development versus natural resources - that was the name of the lecture topic in February. The guest was he former Minister of the Environment of SR, academician, Professor. Ing. Juraj Hrasko,DrSc. The lecturer, graduated Pedology (soil science), presented interesting information on the topic, including environmental issues and sustainable development.

19.01.2012 The MTF STU held an Open Day
This sixth event welcomed prospective candidates from secondary schools that expressed an interest in the study offered in the accredited study programs of the academic year 2012/2013.
The open day began by a welcoming speech from the Vice Dean doc. Ing. Helena Vidova, PhD. and followed with an informational video presenting offered study programs. After the initial meeting, the candidates were divided into groups, which were lead by authorized representatives from different institutions and in their laboratories; they presented the topics from the branch of properties of materials (doc. Ing. Ľubomír Čaplovič, PhD.), Reverse engineering, art Foundry (Ing. Ivan Buranský, PhD.) dangerous chemical reactions (Dr. Richard Curacina, PhD.) evidential reactions in chemistry (Ing. Lenka Blinová, Ing. Zuzana Turňova, PhD., Ing. Thomas Chrebet, PhD.) as well as robotics and tyres (doc . RNDr. Maria Behúlová, CSc.
30.01.2012 There was a New Year's meeting of employees and friends at the STU
On the 19th January 2012, a New Year's meeting of employees and friends of the MTF STU. The meeting began with a speech by the Dean Prof. Dr. Oliver Moravčík and the Chairman of the Academic Senate of the MTF STU doc. Ing. Milos Chambal, CSc. After a professional lecture by Prof. Dr. Prof. emeritus Gunter Dörfel (Germany) and Ing. Milan Petráš, PhD. a ceremonial awarding for 2011 took place. The program finalized with a musical performance from the Sweet Little Chicks. During the following social meeting, the folk group Trnafčan gave a performance.
