3. PhD. thesis: Modeling and utilization of EEG data acquired by low-cost technologies for the control
Supervisor: doc. Ing. Maximilián Strémy, PhD., maximilian.stremy@stuba.sk
Anotation: Subject of the dissertation is to identify suitable low cost technologies for EEG signals (e.g. EPOC), which would provide, with certain reliability, the data suitable for control (e.g. electric wheelchair for handicapped or other applications - also industrial, possibility to choose target for students) and based on them to develope a control system model or prediction model of control.
First of all, it is essential to analyze existing technologies (advantages, disadvantages, scope of data, usability, availability of libraries etc.). Further analyze the signals and data (new data or data from Think and go experiments), prediction options and related procedures-methodology. Identify appropriate procedures and methodology for processing the obtained data (including possible error compensation), test selected procedures / algorithms and compare them on the data and define the basis for control with some reliability. Identify error compensation options. Develop a concept of solution using principles of modeling and simulations (prediction, reliability ..).

4. PhD. thesis: Autonomous control of electric wheelchair for handicapped patients in interior
Supervisor: doc. Ing. Maximilián Strémy, PhD., maximilian.stremy@stuba.sk
Anotation: The aim is to develop control system of the wheelchair around the apartment in a simple way and with the commands of the patient, where the wheelchair would have the primary opportunity to solve situations autonomously by mapping the space and control movement (of course there is also manual control of the movement of the wheelchair- joystick or movement of commands on the command). First of all, it is necessary to define the concept of the wheelchair control - analysis of the current state, possibilities, technologies and algorithms usable for the identification, mapping and movement in the interior. Analysis of suitable energy-saving solutions, eventually use of different forms of self-charging. Development of wheelchair model (e.g. control system model in matlab, but also 3D printing version for testing).Modelling, simulation, implementation and testing of the basic movement with respect to the mapped territory, by the determination of a unique destination in space and automatic transport there. Visualization on mobile devices, e.g. the status and position of the facility, the patient for family members, or the doctor. The solution of mapping and identification in space focus primarily on low-cost technologies and devices - compensate lower reliability by software (or hardware)

5. PhD. thesis: Model and development of system for timestamping data acquisition system for Time-of-Flight Elastic Recoil Detection Analysis
Supervisor: doc. Ing. Maximilián Strémy, PhD., maximilian.stremy@stuba.sk/ doc. Ing. Róbert Riedlmajer, PhD., robert.riedlmajer@stuba.sk
Anotation: A ToF-ERDA spectrometer consists of two timing detectors and an energy detector. The timing detectors are used to measure the time-of-flight over a fixed distance. With the help of the energy detector different masses can be separated.
Two time gates will be used to acquire the two time stamps. Designing a fast acquisition electronics to collecting the coincidence energy/ToF/yield multi parametric spectra. Proposing ToF ERDA signal processing system that comprises of analogue nuclear electronics and the fast digital multi-parameter acquisition system. Realisation the algorithms and pulse processing in practice as a computer program, which communicates through the operating system with the digitizers and then processes the acquired data. A fully digitizing data acquisition, which can also be tailored to suit applications other than ToF-ERDA will develop. The time-of-flight pulse processing will be made entirely in software, allowing rapid development and easy systematic studies of timing and detection efficiency related parameters.
Topic where the consultant (and later PhD supervisor) will be doc. Robert Riedlmajer, director of UVPT MTF STU.

7. PhD. thesis: Proactive simulation in production system control
Supervisor: Prof. Ing. Pavel Važan. PhD., pavel.vazan@stuba.sk
Anotation: The objective of the thesis will be to use the concept of a digital twin and to propose a proactive way to control of the production system at MES level. It will be necessary to resolve the system of data acquisition from an existing production process that will be used in simulations to verify the achievement of the objectives of the production plan. The simulation results allow to review the control and the necessary data will be sent back to the MES to update the production process. From the point of view of the operational level of management, the result of the work will be the usage of on-line simulation in production control.
