OBJECTIVES OF EDUCATION
The Industrial Management study program focuses on the preparation of a complex personality that is able to apply flexibly in the labor market. The emphasis is placed on the ability to practically apply the acquired knowledge. The study program is designed modularly, so that the student can create a graduate profile according to his preferences. After acquiring theoretical knowledge in the areas of natural, technical, humanities and social sciences, the students have the opportunity to profile themself with the selection of optional subjects, with sprecialization for industrial management, quality of production or personnel work in industrial plant.
Profiling subjects focus primarily on business economics, business management methods and tools of industrial engineering, production management, logistics, marketing, decision-making methods, team work, quality management systems, reliability of processes, personnel management, etc. Within the framework of the selected profiling, the graduate acquires concrete knowledge, skills and abilities according to the content of a selected modul.
Knowledge
By connecting the study of natural, technical, humanities and social sciences with the study of industrial management, the graduate will gain a complex knowledge of the management of social technical systems that integrate human resources, information, technologies and processes within the life cycle of products and services. The student has got knowledge and understanding of the field of industrial management, including knowledge of practical contexts and relationships that enable their effective application in practice.
The graduate is able to characterize pre-production and post-production processes and related managerial activities.
At the same time, the student has got knowledge of the quality in technological processes, production deviations, and methodology of their measurement. The student can apply knowledge in the fields of process and project management, personnel marketing, understands the brand building and employer branding, and can characterize the needs and expectations of customers and other stakeholders.
The graduate also has knowledge in the field of business start-ups and business planning activities.
Skills
The graduate is able to apply selected methods, techniques and tools of industrial management, can actively obtain information and use them to solve practical problems in the field of industrial engineering, can apply the procedure of creating a production strategy and production program of the company, can choose relevant statistical methods in solving technical and economic processes in business practice. The graduate has got practical skills in process and project management, can use tools of personnel marketing in the management of human resources, masters various approaches to quality management and its normative assurance, is able to apply tools and methods of quality improvement, to prepare documents for carrying out internal audits and choose specific corrective and preventive measures to increase the sustainable performance of the production plant.
The graduate is able to determine the basic structure and content of a business plan, can process a business plan, can apply key managerial competencies in the context of basic management functions and the way of their development.
Competences
The graduate has got the ability to communicate effectively, to present own opinions and solutions, accept decisions and take responsibility for them, solve problems and work effectively in interdisciplinary and multicultural teams. The student has the ability to think analytically and practically, as well as to approach new and unusual situations creatively, is able to work independently, organize and plan his work and self-development.
The graduate masters modern information and communication technologies and is able to use them adequately in the practice. The graduate has got managerial, economic, legal, environmental and ethical awareness and can apply it in his profession.

- is ready to apply flexibly in the labor market,
- apply as a member of creative team, resp. head of organisations of various types, especially at the first-line and middle levels of management of industrial enterprises. According to selected specialization, the student can apply in specialized management departments of production management, logistics, quality, human resources or marketing. According to the system of professions (on Sustavapovolani.sk and https://www.kvalifikacie.sk/kartoteka-kariet-kvalifikacii#/) the graduate can apply for a specific job positions such as: Manager of Engineering Production, Production Planning Specialist, Human Resources Specialist, Career Consultant, Lecturer of Further Education, Education and Human Resources Development Specialist, Remuneration Specialist, Recruitment and Selection Specialist, Specialist for Human Resources Planning and Controlling, Statistics Specialist, Project Manager in the field of information and communication techlogies, Marketing Manager, etc.
At the same time, he is able to establish and run small firms or companies or be a member of management of larger organizations.
- is prepared for a 2nd degree of master study and can use the gains in knowledge and skills to continue directly in the study of the follow-up engineering study of the Industrial Engineering program.

The study program Industrial Management, as a successor to the study programs in Economics and Management of Mechanical Engineering, Management of industrial enterprises, Industrial Engineering and Management, Personnel Work in Industrial Plant, Production Quality Engineering - during its 69-year history - has produced a number of successful graduates who have found employment in the commercial and also in the academic sphere.
