This project is focused on the study of plasma parameters in HiPIMS process (HiPIMS - High Power Impulse Magnetron Sputtering) with pre-ionization. Titanium nanocomposite coatings enriched with a carbon (TiC), will be prepared by dual HiPIMS and by magnetron sputtering (DCMS - Direct Current Magnetron Sputtering). The aim of this project is a preparation and characterization of gradient nanocomposite wear resisted TiC coatings, which are suitable for automotive industry, where the essential requirements are high load, thermal stability, low coefficient of friction and high wear resistance.
