This project focuses on the investigation of plasma parameters and the deposition behaviour of HiPIMS process with pre-ionization. Thus, the aim of this project is to perform diagnostics of the plasma generated by powerful pulses with pre-ionization in order to understand the relationship between the process parameters and local parameters of deposition plasma, which actually govern plasma processes and plasma-surface interaction. The aim of this project is also to prepare and characterize nanocomposite TiC wear-resistant coatings targeted for automotive applications where high load-bearing capacity and thermal stability, low friction, and wear resistance are the primary requirements.
