The national conference was organized as part of solution of the project “ProSkill” which received funding from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), body of the European Union, under the Horizon 2020, the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation.
The conference addressed the topic of Challenges in the Raw Materials Sector towards Industry 4.0. During the online conference for teachers, lecturers and researchers, which took place on 1st October 2020, leaders of the Faculty of Mining, Ecology, Process Control and Geotechnologies of the Technical University of Košice, Dean Dr. h. c. prof. Ing. Michal Cehlár, PhD. and Vice-dean of the FBERG faculty prof. Ing. Juraj Janočko, CSc., Dr. Scient., presented attractive presentation dedicated to the various topics related to the raw materials sector. The lecture entitled "Minerals - where we are now and where we are heading..." offered participants interesting summary of information and knowledge in the field of raw materials. The actual situation in raw materials industry in Slovakia was summarized, and then the speakers explained the direction, the raw materials industry is heading towards, and what challenges in the raw materials sector need to be addressed. Vice-Dean prof. Janočko also presented the activities of FBERG TUKE in raw materials area and he stressed the involvement of their faculty in the EIT Raw Materials scheme. He also suggested possibilities for future cooperation between the universities in the field of raw materials and Industry 4.0. After the presentation at the national conference, there was a discussion on the topic of the lecture.
