Prof. dr. sc. Diana Šimić will give a lecture "ICT R&D Challenges for the Central and Eastern Europe" after the Opening ceremony.
Prof. dr. sc. D. Šimić is a vice-dean for research of FOI University of Zagreb.
She is member of more than 30 national and international scientific organizations, committees and boards (e.g. Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), American Statistical Association (ASA), 1998 - 2003 president of Croatian Biometric Society, Croatian Society for Simulation Modelling etc.).
The topics of her research are "Scientific Research in Information Sciences", "Applied Research Methods in Social Sciences" and "Statistical Data Analysis".
During her professional carrier, Prof. Šimić worked inter alia in the positions of assistant minister for information technology in Ministry of Science and Technology, deputy state secretary in Central State Administrative Office for e-Croatia, consultant for e-Government and e-Business in a private company, associate professor and vice-dean.

Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Peter Joehnk will give the lecture "After the Crisis: lessons learned? About responsibility and morality of managers in large companies".
Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Joehnk is administrative director of the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf. He worked as commercial manager in Institute for Solid State and Materials Research in Dresden and as manager responsible for CAD/CAM programs and Industrial Robots in Federal Ministry of Education and Research in Bonn.
He is member of the board of directors of the Centre for Science & Research Management Speyer, member of the advisory board of TÜV SÜD Sachsen. He is Dr. honoris causa of STU Bratislava and honorary professor of STU Izhevsk, Russia.
